IICD BDesign 2024 Entrance Exam on 8 Jan

Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD), an innovative, first-of-its-kind public-private partnership institute set up by the Government of Rajasthan, focussed on the craft sector, has started accepting applications for its Entrance Exam for B.Design admissions in 2024. 

Course offered by IICD: 4-Year (8 semesters) B.Design with following specialization options:

(a) Soft Material Design
(b) Hard Material Design
(c) Fired Material Design
(d) Fashion Clothing Design
(e) Jewellery Design

(f) Crafts Communication
Selection Process

Entrance Tests (Part A & B) followed by a Personal Interview.

UPSC Releases NDA 2024 Entrance Exam Dates

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the NDA & Naval Academy Exam entrance twice every year for admission to

(1) Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and

(2) Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC)

Trainings imparted and Degrees awarded

The selected candidates for the three services viz, Army, Navy, and Air Force are given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of 3 years at the National Defence Academy which is an Inter-Service Institution. The training during the first two and half years is common to the cadets of three wings. All the cadets on passing out will be awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi as under :

(a) Army Cadets - B.Sc/ B.Sc (Computer)/ B.A

(b) Naval Cadets - B. Tech Degree

(c) Air Force Cadets - B. Tech Degree

All the cadets undergoing B.Sc/B.Sc (Computer)/BA Degree program shall be awarded the degree on the successful completion of Academics, Physical and Service Training at NDA. All the cadets undergoing the B Tech program shall be awarded the B.Tech degree on the subsequent Pre Commissioning Training Academies/ Institutions/ Ships/ Air Craft.

The selected candidates of the Naval Academy will be given preliminary training both academic and physical, for a period of 04 years at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The cadets of the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme will be awarded a B. Tech Degree on successful completion of training.

COMEDK-UGET On 12 May 2024

COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) has announced that it shall conduct the 2024 entrance exam for admission in BE / BTech / BArch courses on 12 May 2024. COMEDK and Uni-GAUGE-E used to be two separate entrance exams, which have been merged. However, both have different institutes accepting the ranks for admission (a total of approx 150 institutes). While applying, students have the option of being considered for only one or both the sets of member institutions. 

Courses offered : BE, B.Tech, B.Arch

Participating institutes (in 2023): 150+ engineering colleges (accepting COMEDK) and approx. 30+ accepting Uni-GAUGE

Exact list of institutes participating in 2024 shall be released later.

Entrance Exam Dates 2024 Announced By NTA

National Testing Agency (NTA), in a very recent notification, has released the 2024 exam dates for three of its key national level entrance exams namely  NEET-UG, JEE-Mains and CUET-UG. The Examination Specific details shall be informed to candidates through the Information Bulletin of respective examinations, which will be published at the time of launch of Registration Forms of these examinations. 

Exam dates

1. NEET-UG: 5 May 2024

2. JEE-Mains: Session I from 24 Jan to 1 Feb 2024, Session 2 from 1 Apr to 15 Apr 2023

3. CUET-UG: 15 May to 31 may 2024

Result dates

As per the notification, the results of all Online Examinations shall be announced within three weeks of the conclusion of the examination.

For NEET (UG) 2024 (conducted in pen and paper mode), the results shall be declared by second week of June, 2024.

CLAT 2024 Applications Open

The Consortium of National Law Universities shall conduct the Common Law Admission Test CLAT 2024 on 3rd December 2023 and has started accepting online applications for the same.

CLAT is used for admissions to 5 Year Integrated Law programs B.A./B.B.A./B.Sc./B.S.W/B.Com-LL.B offered at 24 National Law Universities and over 52 Private Universities across the country. 

The test shall be conducted across multiple cities in India.

Test pattern

CLAT is a 2-hour test, with 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each. There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. These questions would be divided into the following 5 subjects:

> English Language

> Current Affairs, including General Knowledge

> Legal Reasoning

> Logical Reasoning

> Quantitative Techniques

LSAT-India 2024 In Jan and May

The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) is accepting LSAT-India 2024 applications. Multiple private and deemed-to-be-universities accept LSAT-India as a genuine score for admission to their respective 5-Year Integrated Law Programs.

LSAT-India 2024 will be administered online across India in Jan 2024 and May 2024.

Test window (Jan test): 20-21 Jan 2024

About the LSAT-India 2024

The applicant is tested in three areas:
1) Logical reasoning, 2) Analytical reasoning, and 3) Reading comprehension.
The test will last 2 hours and 20 minutes. Furthermore, the test is proctored online, so the candidate can take it from the comfort of his or her own home.
Based on the entrance exam, LSAC Global provides test takers with an LSAT India scorecard that includes their scaled score and percentile. This LSAT India scorecard can be used to apply to colleges that accept LSAT India results.
